Bumb Stocks - What are they good for?
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.День назад
The recent SCOTUS decision reversed ATFs ruling and made Bumb Stocks legal. There are other ways to "simulate" full-auto fire using replacement triggers, rubber bands and even the belt loop on your jeans. "Fast Shooters" are fun to shoot, but do they serve a practical purpose, other than making the ammo companies smile? Do they add fuel to the anti-gunner's fire by labeling us stupid rednecks o...
Yellow Dawn

Could we end up going beyond Civil War in the US? Could we see World War 3, centered around violent attacks in the US? After a great deal of research and analysis, I say YES, we could see a world war started by an enemy nation using an army that is ALREADY HERE! Lock & Load!
Prelude to War: Part 2 - Civil War
Просмотров 6 тыс.21 день назад
If things degrade to a point of no return, what would a civil war in the US look like? Would we split along political party lines? Along geographic lines like states that succeed from the union? What role would law enforcement and the military play ... whose side would they take? I'll try to answer some of these questions.
Summer of '24: Prelude to War? Part 1

Commentators everywhere are predicting a possible civil war in the US. The division between liberals and conservatives is so severe, resolution may not be possible without bloodshed. I will present my analysis of the situation and predict the events likely this summer prior to the '24 Presidential Election. Interview with Richard Heinie: 1911 Pistolsmith
Просмотров 15 тыс.Месяц назад
Dick Heinie has more than 50 years experience building custom 1911 pistols for competition and personal self-defense. He has innovated many of the features we see on a modern carry 1911. His pistols combine both near-perfect reliability with amazing accuracy, a rare feat among custom builders. Listen in to learn how this weapon platform has evolved.
Ultimate Carry 1911: The best features.
Просмотров 5 тыс.Месяц назад
What features make the Ultimate Carry 1911? High visibility sights, extended and ambidextrous thumb safety, roughened front strap, beveled magazine well ... Features we once needed a custom pistolsmith to add for us can now be had from the factory.
1911 Cartridges
Просмотров 6 тыс.Месяц назад
Over the years Colt has factory chambered 13 different cartridges in 1911-pattern pistols and at least 12 more have been adapted to the 1911. No fighting pistol in history has been chambered in so wide a variety of cartridges to perform on such a wide variety of missions. This no FUDD weapons system ... it is just a further example of the Genius of John M. Browning.
Ultimate Fighting Pistol - Part 2

In the second installment I discuss the commercial variations of the 1911/Government model from the Government Model through to the Colt Concealed Officer's Model. I will also discuss and illustrate the various "micro" 1911 pattern pistols which have become so popular for concealed carry over the years.
Ultimate Fighting Pistol - Part 1 Military

I discuss the introduction of the US M1911 military sidearm and the variations from the 1911A1 through the M45A1. The 1911 series has lasted longer and been adapted to more variations than any other fighting pistol in history.
Bad Smokeless Powder
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 месяца назад
When smokeless powder goes bad it has a very acrid scent and gives off a reddish-brown powdery mist when you pour it. I recently found several pounds of IMR4227 a friend had passed on to me which had rusted through the can and showed the classic signs of deteriorated powder. As I demonstrate in the video, burning smokeless powder in the open is one of the safest ways to dispose of it.

With equivalent hard, penetrating bullets, I think either would work. But, I have both and choose the 10mm ... smaller diameter equals higher sectional density for bullets of the same weight, so greater penetration. 10mm generates more energy, but I feel that has little to do with terminal performance. Non-deforming bullet construction and a flat point yields deep straight-line penetration. You are free to disagree.

Dick, you just gave a very interesting video on the 1911 cartridge,1911 platform.i have always asked the question to alot of people about why the 40s&w is not Chamberd in a 1911 but only para ordinance many years ago for a little while. You said something about the geometry.well in this modern age that we live in that don't make sense to me.I am 70years old been shooting and reloading since 1975 . again you explained the 1911 very well thank you.

I don't understand why the .40 doesn't work well in a standard 1911, I just know I have seen several that were noticeably unreliable. In the shorter 9mm-length Springfield EMP platform, the .40 seems to run splendidly.

I 110% agree! I carried the 1911 in the Marines for darn near 20 years until I was forced to carry as my TO weapon a Beretta 9mm pistol! I own several 1911s and one it 22TCM/9mm and one in 10mm, in 22 cal also one full size and my carry is a Kimber Ultra Carry in 45 cal. As for 40cal a 40S&W and a Star Firestar. My go to pistol has and will always be a 1911 45 cal.

I own a Springfield Armory XDM Elite in 4.5 and 3.8 inch barrels and they are both phenomenal pistols. They handle EVERYTHING from civil loads out to hot bear loads with no problems and are very pleasant to shoot. Just wondering why they never seem to get mentioned too often in the 10mm blogs!

I think any compact handgun for conceal carry in any caliber is fine. I would not want to be shot by any bullet 32, 380. 9X18 , 9mm. 38, 357 or 45ACP. For outside field carry holsters I prefer a Single action Ruger in 45 long Colt or 44 magnum for woods carry defense against humans, bears and cougars out of the 3 I fear the human the most to my life.

Hey Dick I was thinking of something about the events of the past few days. We all saw the "debate" where it is apparent to anyone that Biden is nearly a vegetable. The day after, in a big surprise, almost all the Democrats and pundits on the MSM put out a coordinated call for Biden to "step down". Now already in congress is a motion, under the 25th amendment, section 4, to have Biden declared "mentally incompetent" and relieved. I take it Kamala steps up in his place, but I can see this going sideways real easily! Who knows what stunt they will pull? I wouldn't put it past them to try an overt usurpation coordinated with nationwide riots (BLM style).

I had a SOCOM 16 for awhile. Accurate and easy to shoot. Fun to shoot. I soon discovered I just couldn’t afford to shoot it. My cheap streak got a hold on me. Even with just semi-auto fire I’d look at the ground around me and see a bunch of money on the ground and a lot more time at the loading bench.

No replacement for shot placement. These are guns that are the most concealable, but you must shoot the correct location on the intended target. A better name for these calibers would be "face guns".

All the ballistic testing I have watched, the .30 SC expansion reminds me of a rifle bullet expansion. Wide petals with a long base. If you look at a HST in .30 SC, the skives are cut deep...but look to me to be designed to limit the expansion to a certain level. I am not a Ballistic Expert, just a guy who likes to shoot lotsa different gun's. I have become pretty intrigued in the .30 SC. Hopefully it will catch on and stick around.

9 mini-meter is very much cheaper than .45 and .40 S&W. The FBI wanted to save a lot of money on their firearms budget. So, FBI wrote a study "proving" that the 9 mm is just as good, or better, than the larger calibers. I worked for the government, and that's the way the government works. 1) Decide on what result you want. Then, 2) Write a "study" to prove the result you've already decided on it the only way to go.

I like CCI 22 ammo the best. I have never had a failure too feed in my autos and in a revolver they always go bang. Their 22 macnum in 40 grains is a fast , good round also. The jacketed round that just came out is a CCI Uppercut. It is not as great as all the hype says it is but it does expand in the right gun at the right length barrel.

If we could get S&W to make a good M1 Carbine in 357mag in forged stainless steel that can handle 70,000 lbs of chamber pressure, with modern lite bullets and modernized with better mag detachment, and Magazines with many different recoil springs to choose from, or color coaded springs accompanied with the Ammo boxes, you would have a true Game changing weapon , if they can get it to feed bullets like a 12gage pump, anything from 200gr hard cast ammo and under, but they'd have to test the ammo they make and match it with the recoil springs they send with the ammo because auto's are sensitive to differing power levels and bullet weights, and who wouldn't want a fresh recoil spring ,with the ammo,

Kinetic energy may allow you to compare the "power level" of one round to another but has nothing to do with wound creation ... imho. The bullet construction and what it does on impact are the most important determination of how well a projectile's "energy" is converted to terminal ballistics wounding effect.
